Getting to Naxos
Getting to Naxos by sea or by air
Naxos is one of the largest Cycladic islands and it’s very well connected to Athens and other major islands. This beautiful island can be accessed by air, as well as by high speed and conventional boats. During the summer months there are regular boat routes from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina (about an hour from Athens) and daily flights from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos.
Additionally, there are several boat routes between Naxos, the rest of the Cycladic islands, Crete and the Dodecanese. From Naxos you can also access the unique Koufonisia (small Cyclades), which are considered to be the Seychelles of Greece.
Within the island there is regular bus service to several destinations, beaches and mountainous villages departing from Hora. Besides, you won’t have any problem finding a taxi or even rent a car, in order to tour the island on your own and discover all of its secrets!
